How is Microneedling Effective for Hair Loss?

Skin microneedling therapy, also known as collagen induction therapy or percutaneous collagen induction, is a physical technique, is utilized to break the top skin layer into tiny holes which self regenerate and rejuvenate the skin.

It also can be used to facilitate the delivery of certain nutrients, proteins, drugs, anti-aging, products and vitamins on the skin surface and underneath in the form of mesotherapy, being a form of controlled intradermal (transdermal drug absorption) applications.

When it comes tohair loss, Cellustrious® uses the concept of microneedling to help with the penetration of the plant-derived growth factors, peptides, cytokines and amino acids to target the hair follicles, and to help with those who have thinning hair or hair loss.

The in-office treatment, which is a patent-pending, proprietary option for hair loss, was developed by trichologist, author, trainer and collagen restoration therapist Misti Barnes, CEO of Cellustrious®. The in-office  protocol is  generally about an hour, and it is painless, and non-invasive.

The treatment also contains an at-home protocol, which uses a home version of microneedling, and uses a series of at-home products, that include: Cellustrious® scalp replenisher, Cellustrious® scalp stamp, Cellustrious® hair follicle serum and the Cellustrious® leave-in conditioner. The at-home patent-pending protocol was developed by Misti Barnes, along with a biochemist with a background in hair science who worked for L’Oreal and Aveda, and holds 40 hair related patents. The research led to the most powerful peptides and growth factors.

The reason that protocol is effective to men and women of all ages and ethnicities, no matter the cause of theirhair loss, is because it combines it with the principle behind microneedling, which relies on release of platelet derived growth factors namely transforming growth factor-alpha and beta (TGF β-3) done by micro-tunneling and puncturing the dermal vessels.

Once the TGF β-3 is released, they exist for around two weeks which helps in regeneration of skin by scar reduction, remodeling and improvement on the longer run. When that approach, that is microneedling is combined with growth factors all of which have been developed to target the hair follicles, we are successful with treatment.

At Cellustrious® we have seen most people dealing with hair loss or hair thinning of all types, generally, between 6-8 sessions are needed. Cellustrious® also has at-home treatments to maintain the improvement that has been achieved with the hair.
